Fact:  There is no New Testament church in Cameron Parish.

Question: What is a “New Testament church”?
A New Testament church is one where God’s Word is the only guide for faith and worship, and the Bible is the final authority for guidance in faith and answering questions about God, his Kingdom, and his church. If you look through at the link at the bottom of our website home page titles “
What is the church of Christ”, you will see many questions answered about the New Testament church.
Question: Is it possible to establish a new congregation where none others exist?
This has been done many, many times, in both the United States and in other countries. The question is can we do it? The Boulevard Church of Christ in Lake Charles, the Maplewood Church of Christ in Sulphur, and the South Sulphur Church of Christ in Sulphur, have all joined resources to make this happen. There are others who will no doubt, join us in this effort as it moves along.
Question: What is needed to start a congregation in Cameron Parish?
We need Christian families who will worship with us in the new church location for a few months, as “seed families” to help us get started and get acquainted with our neighbors in Cameron Parish and provide an “instant church family”.
  1. We need our visitors to be able to experience what a church family is, without waiting to grow one themselves.
We need to select the location for the meeting place.
  2. We have a group of Christians praying over this issue right now, and an active discussion is ongoing as to where is the ideal geographic location.
  3. We will need a meeting place, a building. We are looking to rent a facility for a year or so, until the new church grows enough to need a larger place.
  4. We do not need furniture. We already have pews, a communion table, a pulpit and song books. When we locate a facility to rent, we can be set up to conduct services within a week.
Question: If I was able to help, what would you have me to do?
  1. Pray for this work to succeed and grow strong quickly.
  2. Pray for a facility suitable for a worship site to show itself soon.
  3. Ask about and get your friends to be looking also.
  4. Watch for the announcement in the Cameron Pilot for services to begin, and come visit us.
  5. We especially invite all the folks we were allowed to assist after Hurricane Rita with washers, dryers, stoves, bedding and furniture. We would like to see you again and learn how you are doing today.

Remember, God has promised he can do all we dream or imagine, and more!
